Event Details

This new multigenerational program welcomes neurodivergent kids, teens, adults, and seniors. Participants can choose how to participate, including signing up for five minutes to share about a favorite topic or hanging out in the space. Visuals (slides or items) are welcome. There will be fidgets and supports available. This program is run by neurodivergent librarians.

Schedule:

  • Fill out a nametag, add a dot
    • Dots are to show your comfort level for conversations and are not required.
  • Find a seat and wait
    • Sit anywhere you want. Waiting ideas: Grab a fidget, color, play on your device, see if anyone wants to chat
  • Introduce yourself
    • We will go in turn around the room. Tell everyone your name, and if you’ve been to a Nerdout before. You can write your answers if you prefer. Sharing is optional.
  • Schedule who wants to talk
    • Everyone who signs up will get five minutes to talk about one of their favorite topics
  • Listen to everyone.
    • This is not the time for asking questions or sharing opinions. Only one person is talking.
  • Chat time and goodbyes
    • When everyone is done, you can leave or chat with people until the librarians close up the room.
