Program Description

Event Details

Did you know that Disney, Netflix, Google, and NASA, just to name a few, are all using Python? Python can be used for creating web applications, automation, programming robots, and artificial intelligence. Python is the language of choice from beginners to experts. You don't need any coding experience to join this TechGirlz camp!

Students will learn the basics of Python programming, including simple data types (e.g., floats, integers, strings, and lists), comparisons, if-statements, and loops in Trinket.io. Students will also learn fundamental concepts of computer graphics and animation using Python. They will be animating houses, cars, bouncy balls, and wildlife such as turtles!

This camp is open to girls in grades 5-8.

Students must have access to the internet and a computer (no Chromebooks). Students must create a free account with trinket.io https://trinket.io/ and a free account with Repl.it.

This event is part of a four-day program series. Please plan to attend all four sessions held: Sunday, August 7 through Wednesday, August 10, 9:30 am to 12:00 pm CST each day (10:30 am to 1:00 pm EST).
