Program Description

Event Details

Connect virtually with other community members as we discuss the March graphic novel trilogy by John Lewis and reflect together on the impact of civil rights movements today. This honest, anti-racist discussion is recommended for ages 11 and up.

Attendees will join together for a presentation followed by intergenerational peace circle sessions in separate breakout rooms. Circles give all participants an equal opportunity to speak, listen, and be heard.

Adults and students from Dominican University, Oak Park and River Forest High School, and Julian & Brooks middle schools will facilitate these family and community circles.

Registering for this event below automatically registers you for the following discussions, but feel welcome to join us for any or all events in this three-part series.

Find a library copy in the catalog, including through Hoopla. Books are also available to purchase through The Book Table. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact us for a free copy (supply limited).

This series is made possible with the support of D97 and D200 school districts, the E-Team of Oak Park, Dominican University’s Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) group, The Township of Oak Park, and the Oak Park Public Library.
