Event Details

Genealogy & Local History Librarian Ed will be demonstrating how to use library resources like Ancestry, FamilySearch, HeritageQuest, and NewspaperARCHIVE to access genealogical records and historical documents.

Curious about preserving physical media to upload to a genealogical resource? Creative Technology Specialist Kay will highlight the Media Preservation Station, a computer station with photo scanners, a VCR for VHS video capture, digital audio cassette capture device, floppy disk readers, and a MiniDV camcorder capture kit.

This is part one of two programs on exploring family history. Part two expands on these topics and is presented by genealogist Jacquie Schattner. Digital Tools for Genealogy will take place on June 13th at 6pm-7pm in the Creative Studio.
