Event Details

Utilizing digital tools, discover your family history and find your ancestors’ stories. This class will help you start, or refresh, your journey into compiling a family history project online. Presenter Jacquie Schattner will discuss best practices for using genealogical websites more efficiently and digitally organizing your information. She will also share a resource list of over 25 free websites for searching family history.

This is part two of our series on genealogy and uncovering family history. 

About the presenter
Jacquie Schattner has been actively researching her family’s ancestors since 1996. She volunteered at the Schaumburg Family History Center for 15 years and teaches genealogy at local high schools, libraries, and for online groups all over the country. She is active in several genealogy societies such as the Northwest Suburban Genealogical Society in Mt. Prospect, and has written several genealogy books. Jacquie received her B.S. degree in Business from the University of Illinois. She is a retired school secretary, allowing her free time to pursue new information. Living in Palatine, Illinois, she has been happily married for 40+ years, has two grown children, two son-in-laws, and six adorable grandchildren.
