This month's book: You Don't Know Everything, Jilly P! by Alex Gino.

Jilly thinks she's figured out how life works. But when her sister, Emma, is born deaf, she realizes how much she still has to learn. The world is going to treat Jilly, who is white and hearing, differently from Emma, just as it will treat them both differently from their Black cousins...Jilly makes some mistakes...but comes to understand that it's up to her...to do better next time.

How to participate:

  1. Get the book. The books will be on hold in the Main Library Lobby. Speak to a staff member to check out your copy! Or download a copy through Hoopla. Need help getting started with Hoopla? Watch how-to videos at oppl.org/how-to-library »
  2. Discuss. Join us in this librarian-led virtual discussion.
