Come learn and express yourself in a series of workshops from Slowfire Oak Park designed to spark memory and spur narrative. You're invited to attend any or all sessions. See the schedule below to register for each session.

July 27: Abstract Fauvist Paintings

Using the art of Henri Matisse as our guide, we will create abstract scenes using bright colors and multiple patterns. Images of Henri Mattise paintings will be provided to get creativity flowing. Acrylic paint and watercolor will be the primary materials we will use for this exercise.

About Josslyn Baron
Josslyn Baron graduated from Dominican University with a Bachelor of Arts in both Painting/Drawing and Psychology. During her time at Dominican University, she was a Painting/Drawing Teaching Assistant, a Behavioral Statistics Teaching Assistant, and a Writing Tutor. Throughout her classes, she explored a multitude of mediums but continues to hold oil paint as her favorite artistic medium. Josslyn very much enjoys using art as a form of self-expression, which paved the way to her perusal of a career in art therapy. Some of her favorite artists are Frida Kahlo, Celia Paul, Kehinde Wiley, Emilio Villalba, and many more!
