Join us for a conversation with sociologist and TV-lover Danielle J. Lindemann on what popular dating reality TV shows reveal about us, including our attitudes toward race, gender, class, and sexuality. Moderated by Oak Park Public Library Executive Director, Joslyn Bowling Dixon.

About Danielle J. Lindemann, PhD

Lindemann is a Professor of Sociology at Lehigh University interested in gender, sexuality, the family, and culture. She is the author of three books, including True Story: What Reality TV Says About Us (2022). True Story was listed as a “Best Nonfiction Book of 2022” by Esquire and as one of Behavioral Scientist’s “Notable Books of 2022." Lindemann's research has been featured in media outlets such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.  She has been interviewed on NPR and written op-eds for CNN, Newsweek, and others.
