This talk will focus on today’s fast-changing gender landscape including current gender concepts, terms, statistics, social-emotional implications, and current best practices. Attendees will learn about the transgender and gender non-conforming experience and gain from the presenter’s experience as the parent of a transgender son.

About Rick B. Smith, LMFT
Rick has been a Couple and Family Therapist at Skylight Counseling Center and YearUp Chicago, and is the founder of Relate Counseling Ltd. of Oak Park, Illinois. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Rick works with families, couples, and individuals to help them navigate life's challenges and is the proud father of a transgender son and a cisgender daughter.
