Event Details

The 4th Annual Restorative Justice Conference is brought to you by the Oak Park Public Library and the Leading Edge Teen Advisory Board. People of all ages and from all walks of life are invited to come and experience open communication with the community.

Register (below) to join us as we explore themes of respect, response, and restoration through workshops, peace circles, guest speakers, and more.

The conference includes:

Opening Ceremony: Example Setters
Be wowed by an opening ceremony by the Example Setters. They will breathe life into our virtual space and set the stage for the conference. The Example Setters Youth Poetry Squad is a motivational youth leadership and poetry team from the city of Chicago. To date, the team has breathed life into over 20,000 people. The team came together because they all believe the tongue has the power of life and death. As a team, they are dedicated to saving lives. Are you ready to set the example?

Respect: Small Group Breakout Discussion
Participants will be directed into groups to discuss what respect means to each person and share stories of times that they felt respected. Bring your experiences and an open mind to listen to the experiences of others.
