Program Description

Event Details

The Uniquely Tea Party is a social-emotional development workshop that promotes equity in a trauma free environment. This program is designed for girls who identify as members of the African-Diaspora in celebration of Black History Month.

This year's Uniquely You Tea Party will focus on "Black Future". We are encouraging the girls to imagine themselves in the future without restrictions, limitations, or disruptions. We hope to provide a safe space for each participant to imagine their own future using the past contributions of Black Historical Figures as a vehicle to excellence.

The girls should leave this program with a complete understanding of the meaning of Sankofa and Ubuntu! Each table will have a professional mentor to guide the girls experience through the tea party.

This program is a drop-off/pick-up event. There will be teachers, mentors, and library staff to insure the safety of the participants.

African attire is encouraged but not required.
