Part 1: Different Thinkers are Valuable Workshop: How to honor your child through the 504/IEP process and in the classroom

This first part of this two-part workshop will be focused on how best to advocate for your child. We will highlight what your child can bring that benefits an entire classroom. We will learn about Gestalt Language Processing, identifying different ways that kids communicate, and how we can make sure that all types of thinking and language are valued. This workshop will cover IEP/504 language as well as day-to-day inclusion. We will offer one-on-one support between workshop sessions with a goal of having your family ready to approach the 2024/25 school year with confidence!
