About Dr. Luger
Daniel Luger, MD received his medical degree from Rush Medical College. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City. As a non-invasive cardiologist his primary areas of focus are echocardiography, advanced lipidology, and primary prevention. Dr. Luger launched the RUSH Center for Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease. This is an interdisciplinary clinic dedicated to treating cardiovascular risk factors (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, sedentary behavior) through individualized lifestyle interventions and medical therapy. He c0-created the Metabolic Health Consortium at RUSH, a system-wide metabolic disease prevention collaborative. He has an interest in addressing healthcare disparities and works closely with various nonprofit organizations in Chicago to bring cardiovascular preventive services to the indigent community. He serves as Treasurer of the Medical Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of Internal Medicine at Rush Oak Park Hospital.
