Hear from local authors Erika Eckhart and Rebecca Fishow as they discuss their new books.
Erika Eckhart
Erika Eckart is the author of the chapbook The Tyranny of Heirlooms (Sundress Publications, 2018) and the forthcoming full length The Mothers (Finishing Line Press, 2025). Her prose poetry/flash fiction/ micro essays have appeared in Agni, Quarter After Eight, Quick Fiction, Passages North, The Tampa Review, and elsewhere. A recent graduate of the UIC Program for Writers, she lives in Oak Park, IL where she mothers her three children, writes mostly about mothering
and being mothered, and leads the English Division at Oak Park and River Forest High School.
Rebecca Fishow
Rebecca Fishow's new collection of fiction, How to Love a Black Hole (Conium Press), was named a must-read book by Reactor Magazine and was called "a literary magic trick." Her first book, The Trouble With Language (Trnsfr Books), won the 2019 Holland Prize for Fiction. She holds an MFA from Syracuse University and is a PhD candidate, educator, and university fellow at University of Illinois Chicago. She lives in Chicago with her husband and son.
