Do you have something to say, but don't know how to say it? Have you ever wanted to make your own book to let people see your creativity, or digest your thoughts? This workshop will talk about what can be done with chapbooks and zines from a historical, political, philosophical, and literary perspective. Your hosts will introduce the concept of zines and chapbooks to people of all ages, and give examples of various types of style, construction, and content you can focus on as a creator. We'll also provide examples of zines/chapbooks that were made digitally and how technology can assist with self-publishing endeavors.

Participants will walk away either with the beginnings of a zine (or a complete one if they work quickly!) and a greater understanding of how they can express themselves creatively and/or affect change through self-publishing. Limited materials will be provided for a cut-and-paste style zine that participants can work on at the event.
