About TechGirlz
TechGirlz is a program of CompTIA Spark, a 501(c)3 nonprofit and social impact arm of CompTIA, that inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers. TechGirlz is accomplishing its mission through the creation of free, fun, interactive “TechShopz” led by industry professionals, community leaders, and students. Workshop curriculum is shared for free with companies, organizations, schools, and community groups so they can inspire girls around the world with technology. Their vision is to create a world where girls have a lifelong passion and confidence in their use of technology throughout their careers.

Event Details

Are you interested in how apps are designed? In this workshop, students will learn how researchers, designers, and developers use design thinking to create digital experiences like the ones in their favorite apps! Guided, unplugged activities will show students how to put themselves in the mind of users that may not be the same as them and brainstorm ideas for improving the user experience of real apps. (No hardware or software needed.)
