Program Description

Event Details

Growing food in your backyard—or anywhere inside or outside your house—is the best way to know where your food comes from. Yes, you can be successful this growing season! Most of our kitchen gardeners are "first-timers." A brief Q&A session will follow.

About Deep Roots Project

Nonprofit Deep Roots Project, Oak Park’s very own kitchen gardening experts, will offer practical tips on soil preparation and choosing plants. In addition, they will explain their simple, unique "core method" (organic, of course!), no gardening experience necessary. There’s never been a better time to discover the joy (and fun) of growing healthy, tasty veggies right outside your door. Learn more about the Deep Roots Project »
