Solar Eclipse Viewing at Scoville Park

Event Details

Did you know that a total solar eclipse is happening on Monday, April 8? A total eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth. While Oak Park isn't in the path of totality, we'll be able to see a partial eclipse that'll come pretty close to the full experience.

Participate in fun activities—including pop-ups with community partners and the library Book Bike (weather permitting)—around the solar eclipse 12-4 pm outside the Main Library.

This event is intended for all ages. Glasses will be available the day of, one per family, while supplies last. As part of the library’s commitment to sustainability, we will reuse glasses to allow as many folks as possible to view the eclipse.
