Event Details

This month's book is Becoming Muhammad Ali by James Patterson and Kwame Alexander.

Before he was a household name, Cassius Clay was a kid with struggles like any other. This novel in prose and verse depicts his life up to age 17, including his childhood friends, struggles in school, the racism he faced, and his discovery of boxing. Learn about Cassius' family and neighbors in Louisville, Kentucky, and how, after a thief stole his bicycle, Cassius began training as an amateur boxer.

How to participate:

  1. Get the book. The books will be on hold in the Main Library Lobby and Children's Services area. Speak to a staff member to check out your copy!
  2. Discuss. Register below to join us in this librarian-led discussion, either virtually or in-person.
