Event Details

Join us to listen to Ojibwa author and speaker Kim Sigafus share a history of Native women in Illinois, including Singing Bird (Blackhawk’s wife). Kim will share Native artifacts and music to help bring the audience into these women's daily lives. She will also talk about their role in their husbands' lives, and how those lives affected the history of Illinois. The audience will be able to pick up and view the artifacts, learn Native language and music, and get the chance to play the drum. Q&A will follow.
