Description of Meeting/Event

About This Event

The Digital Navigator Network Guiding Team, made up of library staff and in partnership with RAILS and Cook County Digital Equity, invites suburban Cook County public libraries to help shape the future of the Cook County Digital Navigator Network! Our new countywide effort will support libraries in helping residents access devices, reliable internet, and build essential digital skills. It will include a future grant opportunity and shared supports to help libraries expand this important work. This co-design event is a key part of our Human-Centered Design process and will directly inform how the Digital Navigator Network is designed and implemented.

This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by the Cook County Equity Fund.

Who Should Attend

We welcome staff at any level from all suburban Cook County public libraries, including frontline library workers, library leadership, and staff already doing formal or informal digital navigation work.

No tech expertise is required. We are here to learn from library staff who support community members every day and understand the real challenges, barriers, and assets in their communities, especially those most impacted by digital inequities.

What to Expect

This 2-hour session will be practical, collaborative, and welcoming. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Participants can expect:

  • Small-group discussions and hands-on activities
  • Space to share challenges, ideas, and what’s working
  • Opportunities to help shape future funding and support for libraries
  • Connecting with colleagues to build a shared understanding of libraries’ critical role in advancing digital equity
