About the film
The USDA estimates that 32 million school kids consume up to 50% of their calories at school, contributing to the obesity epidemic among young people. What does it take to reform school lunch programs and provide healthful, tasty meals to our nation’s kids? Cafeteria Man takes a behind-the-scenes look at Tony Geraci’s sweeping, tenacious efforts to kickstart school lunch reform in Baltimore’s schools, a large urban district that serves 83,000 students.
Doors open at 10:30 am; film screening begins at 11 am. Hosted in partnership with One Earth Collective and the Village of Oak Park.
Onsite parking: The Main Library offers two hours of free underground garage parking with elevator access to the main lobby. However, we anticipate a lot of traffic on the day of this screening, in part due to events happening throughout the day at the library as well as in Scoville Park. If possible, you may want to consider carpooling, walking, or biking. Nearby pay-for parking options include street parking and The Avenue Parking Garage, 720 North Blvd.
