Enjoy and learn about Latinx culture at the 2022 Convivencia in Oak Park! This FREE event is filled with fun, food, and resources for the whole family. 

Convivencia means “living together,” which has been the mission of the Housing Center since 1972: cultivating integrated, diverse, and inclusive communities. This year, we are proud to continue this mission in the form of a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! 

Please join us for this special event supporting and celebrating our Latinx community. 

Bring your chairs and picnic blankets!

Event Schedule:

Face Painting: 12 PM to 2 PM 

Balloon Animals: 12 PM to 2 PM 

Storytime with Mr. Jose from OPPL: 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM 

Piñatas: 12:45 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM 

Cumbiamba Group Latin Dance w/ Israel Landa: 1 PM to 2 PM 

Mariachi Sirenas: 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM 

Lotería with the Oak Park Public Library: 3:15 PM to 4 PM 

• Live Art in the Park with Studio Nez 
• Resource Fair 
• Bouncy House 
• Latin American Artifacts from Oak Park Public Library's Multicultural Collection 

Note: There will not be food trucks present, but Tacos ’76 will be providing free horchata and aguas frescas for all.

All entertainment and food at this event is free with the exception of items from the food trucks. No alcohol is allowed on the premises. 

Please note that this event will be outdoors, weather permitting. 

This event is hosted by the Oak Park Regional Housing Center in partnership with the Oak Park Public Library, Park District of Oak Park, and the Village of Oak Park.

¡Disfruta y aprende sobre la cultura Latinx en la Convivencia 2022 en Oak Park! Este evento GRATUITO está lleno de diversión, comida y recursos para toda la familia.

Convivencia significa “vivir juntos”, que ha sido la misión del Centro de Vivienda desde 1972: cultivar comunidades integradas, diversas e inclusivas. ¡Este año, estamos orgullosos de continuar con esta misión en forma de celebración del Mes de la Herencia Hispana!

Acompáñanos para este evento especial que apoya y celebra a nuestra comunidad Latinx.
