Educational Therapy vs. Tutoring - Which One Do I Need?

Primary tabs

This is not a library-led event.

Meeting/Event Description (will be published at oppl.org/calendar)

When you or your child is struggling with learning, the first move is usually to find a tutor. But a tutor may not be the best fit for what a struggling learner needs.

Educational Therapists are trained in assessment, learning differences, and educational strategies. We look at the entire learner to figure out what's holding them back, and create a personalized educational plan to help them overcome their learning challenges. We work remotely and in person with children, teens, and adults across subjects and needs.

Certified Educational Therapist Heather Ash (MST, ET) will give you an overview of Educational Therapy, where it sits within the field of other allied professionals, when an ET might be useful (or not), and how to find one to work with you. Q&A to follow.
