Come as you are and stay as you like—this Disability Pride Ice Cream Social is a low-pressure, high-joy celebration of community, connection, and inclusion. Whether you’re coming from the Neurodivergent Nerdout event or just dropping by for a treat, enjoy a welcoming environment that honors the many ways people can experience and express themselves socially.
At this gathering, all kinds of communication and connection are valued and encouraged. You’re welcome to chat, stim, info-dump, or just sit back and enjoy the vibe—whatever feels right for you. This is a space where social differences are not deficits—and where neurotypical norms are seen as one option, not the rule.
This event is inclusive of all disabilities and all expressions of disability pride. Whether you’re neurodivergent, physically disabled, chronically ill, Deaf, blind, or any combination—this space is for you. We’re nurturing a community that recognizes and respects diverse access needs, embraces varied social styles, and views disability as an identity, not a deficit.
Free ice cream, community, and pride—served with no pressure to perform any particular flavor of “social.”
Accessibility: The library is wheelchair accessible. We’ll offer a quiet corner, fidget tools, and a variety of seating options. Please reach out if you have any additional access needs.
Let’s celebrate the end of Disability Pride Month with joy, affirmation, and a whole lot of sprinkles.
In partnership with CAYR Connections.
