Join the Oak Park Public Library and District 97's DivCo for an interactive workshop about unlearning and disrupting transphobia facilitated by About Face Theatre. This program is for students in grades 3-8, caregivers, and educators. 

About Face Theatre’s touring workshops and performances are designed to help affirm LGBTQ+ lives and advocate for brave, healthy, and equitable environments. We collaborate with different groups to identify themes and interactive activities to meet their specific needs. Our touring programs are proven to deepen understanding, create important dialogue opportunities for people of all ages, and meet your goals for organizational change. 

About the facilitators

DIONNE ADDAI (They/She) is a performer, writer, director, and teaching artist local to Chicago. They are a passionate advocate for reproductive rights, racial justice, and free comprehensive sex education. Their artistic practice centers on educating in order to encourage sociopolitical action and mutual aid. As a performer, Dionne has multiple on-camera credits and has worked with over 20 renowned theatre companies in the US. One of her favorite projects right now is the we Sexuality Out Loud, a webseries she co-wrote/directed, and produced collaboratively for For Youth Inquiry and ICAH. It is currently streaming on weareo.tv

THEO WAMPUSZYC (He/They) is a trans-masc performer and writer. In addition to being a member of About Face's Green Room Collective, they are also a clown for Vaudeville Chicago, a company that brings circus and variety comedy to senior living facilities with a focus on dementia and memory care. Theo has journeyed through many realms of performance including clown, burlesque, improv, stage combat, standup, and drag. Theatre remains their passion, whatever form it might take. 

PEN WILDER (They/Them) is a Chicago-based playwright, poet, and teaching artist whose work is centered in creative storytelling. They also can be seen performing as part of the indie rock group Cowboy Neal.
