Event Details

Join your neighbors, the Book Bike, and Seven Generations Ahead for a community bike ride through Oak Park!

The bike route will begin outside Oak Park Village Hall at 8:00 AM and end at Oak Park River Forest High School at 9:30 AM, where a workshop and small group discussions will be taking place in the cafeteria for Oak Park's Intergovernmental Committee (IGOV) Sustainability Forum. Seven Generations Ahead will have a table discussing climate justice and road sharing alongside other community members and nonprofits.

From the Community Bike Ride event organizers: "We’re organizing this ride (first in a series) to encourage road-sharing, sustainable commuting, and community engagement. All ages & abilities are invited to join on your own wheels & cruise the blocks many of us call home with the OPPL’s Book Bike! Each ride will make one rest stop at site relevant to local POC history."

Safety first! Helmets are required and reusable water bottles are encouraged.

This event is weather permitting. Please check back for information regarding inclement weather cancellations.
