Meet local award-winning author Michele Weldon discussing her latest book, The Time We Have: Essays on Pandemic Living, a candid and cathartic exploration of pandemic life, from family to pop culture to healthcare—and beyond. There will be a book reading and signing with books available from The Book Table. 

About Michele Weldon
Her latest book is The Time We Have: Essays on Pandemic Living. Her earlier award-winning books include I Closed My Eyes (1999); Writing To Save Your Life (2001); Everyman News: The Changing American Front Page (2008); Just Me and My Three Sons (2012); Escape Points: A Memoir (2015) and Act Like You’re Having A Good Time (2020), winner of the 2021 Independent Publishers Award for Best Book of Nonfiction Essays, and the 2021 Gilda Radner Award for humor writing. 

Weldon has delivered more than 200 keynotes and been a guest "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Today Show," CNN, BBC, ABC-TV, NPR, and more. She is editorial director of Take The Lead, a global women's leadership initiative, and serves on the advisory boards of Global Girl Media Chicago, The Children’s Foundation and Beat The Streets Chicago. She lives in River Forest, is an OPRFHS alum and is the mother of three grown sons.
