Join us for a lively evening with Oak Park native and New York Times bestselling author, Abraham Josephine Riseman and moderated by Michael Allen Rose. They’ll discuss Riseman's book, Ringmaster: Vince McMahon and the Unmaking of America, a biography of the professional wrestling mogul along with never-before-seen research and exclusive interviews with people who witnessed, aided, and suffered from his ascent. 

Books will be available for sale, courtesy of our neighborhood bookstore, The Book Table, and the author will autograph books after the program. 

About the author
Abraham Josephine Riesman is a freelance reporter and essayist. She is the author of True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee and Ringmaster: Vince McMahon and the Unmaking of America. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, The Boston GlobeThe New RepublicVice, WNYC, NY1, The New York Sun, and WBAI, to name a few.

About the moderator
Michael Allen Rose is an author, musician, and performance artist based in Chicago, IL. He works in many genres, including horror, bizarro noir (Embry: Hard Boiled), cartoonish comedy (Party Wolves In My Skull), and experimental and surreal explorations of concepts like gun violence (Boiled Americans). Lastly, Michael leads Crime & Coffee, one of Oak Park Public Library's book groups.
