Event Details
Following a reading and signing of Kathleen Anne Fleming’s new novel A Menacing Luster, join us for a discussion about conditions for women as exemplified throughout history. Prior published books will serve as springboards to discussion including topics such as the Lizzie Borden Murders and trial, and why she was acquitted; the treatment of mental illness in Victorian times to the present and the tragic saga of the Radium Girls and working conditions in 1920s America.
About the author
Kathleen Anne Fleming has a BA in English from DePaul University and is a former member of the Mystery Writers Association. She has authored six other books; a collection entitled One Impulsive Black Rose as Kathleen Fleming O'Sullivan, as well as five mystery novels: The Jazz Age Murders, The Demands of the Dead, Factory of Death, Canary in The Coal Chute and Murder Most Opulent. During her career as an author, she has also served as an instructor at Oakton Community College, Northbrook Public Library, and other libraries, and has led numerous writing workshops at various Chicagoland Barnes & Noble bookstores.
