Meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments. 

David Alvarado is a visual artist, illustrator, and creative designer whose work has spanned from commercial art and editorial illustration to, recently, fine art. Tiptoeing between humorous, awkward, and strange, his work is inspired by a blend of commercial design from the past, cartoons from his youth, and the dreamlike state that occurs just before deep sleep.

Alvarado is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in illustration. His work has appeared in the Chicago Reader, Newcity Magazine, ProPublica, Timeout, City Bureau and other national publications.
