Program Description

Event Details

A self-taught artist living in Oak Park, Vanley Roebuck learned from tutorial videos on YouTube and art classes offered at Veterans Affairs centers. Vanley says he has always liked creating art because it came easy to him. He likes the freedom of the paintbrush in his hand, and with each stroke, his creativity flowed. His sense of excitement grew as he progressed further with his paintings, and as he stepped back, it felt extremely satisfying knowing that he had created something special. Remarkably, painting also helped improve his patience as he had to take his time to ensure that he got it right.

Vanley's work will be displayed in the Main Library Art Gallery from November 1 to December 3.

Meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments at the Artist Reception on Saturday, November 5, 11:30 am-1:00 pm »
