Event Details

"Process" by Alexander Gonzalez will be on exhibit at the Main Library Art Gallery from November 5 to December 7.

From the artist
"My motivation lies in the physical pain and trauma I have experienced throughout my time in the military as a young adult. It’s easier to draw and paint to tell my story, than it is for me to talk about. As I grow older my physical pain becomes more prominent and so does my urge to create. I want to show you my story before that is no longer an option.

"In my exhibit 'Process,' I explore the journey of my life from early adulthood to the physical and emotional trauma I have experienced due to my time in the military. I explore themes of strength, loss, culture, referencing the technical inner workings of the human body, expressing love, self-discovery, and creativity in a way that makes a connection between the past and present. I invite you to explore and experience my journey, and hope to inspire creativity and confidence by finding triumph through pain and struggle."

Art Exhibit Reception: Wednesday November 13, 6:30-8:00PM : Meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments.
